Heathrow Airport authorities announced Monday that Terminal 4 had been closed and evacuated after emergency teams responded to a “potential hazardous materials incident.”

Authorities asked passengers not to travel to the terminal until further notice, confirming that other facilities remain operational.

London Fire Brigade stated that specialized units were deployed to assess the situation and that the evacuation was a precautionary step to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
