Denmark Hosts Two European Summits Amid Security Reinforcements from Three Countries

Denmark is hosting, on Wednesday, a summit for European Union leaders, followed the next day by a broader European Political Community summit with 47 members. Copenhagen confirmed that it has tightened security for the two events after unidentified drones were detected, causing tension and the temporary closure of some airports in the country.

France, Germany, and Sweden announced on Monday that they would send military personnel and anti-drone systems to Denmark to bolster security during the summits

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson confirmed in a post on the platform X that Sweden would deploy “anti-drone systems” in addition to “a small number” of radar systems to Denmark.
