The UAE’s Masdar company announced the start of construction on the world’s largest integrated solar and battery storage project, with a clean energy capacity of 1 gigawatt around the clock.

The project includes a 5.2-gigawatt solar power plant and a 19-gigawatt-hour storage system, with an investment exceeding AED 22 billion.

It is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 5.7 million tons annually and create over 10,000 jobs.
