The European Union announced on Friday that it will stop issuing multiple-entry visas to Russian nationals, in a move aimed at increasing pressure on Moscow over its ongoing war in Ukraine.
In a statement, the EU said that Russian travelers will now be required to apply for a new visa each time they intend to enter the Schengen area, instead of being eligible for longer-term, multi-entry permits.
The measure forms part of a broader set of actions adopted by EU member states in response to Russia’s continued military operations in Ukraine.
