Trump Announces U.S. Will Boycott G20 Summit in South Africa Over Human Rights

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday, November 7, 2025, that no American officials would attend the G20 summit scheduled in South Africa on November 22–23, citing human rights violations in the host country.

In a post on his platform Truth Social, Trump described holding the summit in South Africa as “shameful,” highlighting reports of illegal land seizures and attacks on local communities.
