The European Parliament voted to end all Russian gas imports by 2027, overcoming Hungary and Slovakia’s opposition.

The Strasbourg plenary saw 500 MEPs in favor, 120 against, and 32 abstentions.

The ban still needs formal EU ministers’ approval, expected early next year.

Hungary’s PM Viktor Orbán announced plans to challenge it in court.
