Torrential rain in the Gaza Strip has caused the collapse of dozens of makeshift camps sheltering hundreds of thousands of displaced residents, flooding tents and disrupting relief efforts in harsh winter conditions.
Field reports say volunteer teams are unable to provide rapid protection due to a lack of resources, while humanitarian organizations appealed to the international community for safe shelters before temperatures fall further.
The camps also face severe shortages of food and medicine, amid rising fears of infectious diseases as rainwater mixes with sewage.
