U.S. media reported on Friday that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, accompanied by three destroyers, has arrived in the Indian Ocean while heading toward the U.S. Central Command’s area of operations in the Gulf of Oman, amid heightened U.S. tensions and threats toward Iran.

CBS News cited unnamed U.S. defense officials as saying the carrier strike group has entered the Indian Ocean, adding that it is expected to reach the Middle East within the next few days.
