Mohammad Mokhber, an adviser to Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said on Wednesday that Tehran had no intention of negotiating with the United States and was prepared for a prolonged war.
“We have no trust in the Americans and there is no basis for negotiations with them,” Mokhber said in remarks carried by Iranian state television.
“We can continue the war for as long as we want,” he added.
There was no immediate comment from U.S. officials on the remarks.
