U.S. President Donald Trump said American forces carried out airstrikes targeting Kharg Island in the northeastern Persian Gulf, claiming that “all military targets” on the island were destroyed.

Trump described the operation as one of the most powerful airstrikes in the history of the Middle East, adding that the island’s oil infrastructure was not targeted at this stage.

Kharg Island is considered one of the most important storage and export hubs for Iranian oil, making it strategically vital to Iran.
