The Fatah movement announced the election of 18 members to its Central Committee and 80 members to its Revolutionary Council during the proceedings of its eighth conference.
Imprisoned leader Marwan Barghouti topped the voting results, followed by intelligence chief Majed Faraj and Hussein Al Sheikh.
Yasser Abbas, son of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, also secured a seat on the Central Committee alongside Zakaria Zubeidi, Leila Ghannam, and Mohammad Shtayyeh.
Fatah stated that the elections reflect a broader effort to renew leadership and strengthen the representation of youth and women within the movement’s institutions.
