UN Warns 1.4 Million People in Lebanon Need Humanitarian Assistance

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Lebanon, Imran Riza, warned of a rapidly worsening food security situation, stating that approximately 1.4 million people currently require humanitarian assistance.

He noted that the UN is seeking an additional $331.5 million in funding to sustain relief operations through August.

Riza also highlighted that ongoing hostilities have resulted in thousands of casualties and widespread displacement, raising concerns about a deepening humanitarian crisis.
