Iraq’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign came to a disappointing end after a 5-0 loss to Senegal in the third round of Group I.
The Iraqi side suffered an early setback when defender Rebin Sulaka was sent off in the 13th minute before the team’s defense collapsed in the second half.
Habib Diarra, Ismaïla Sarr, Pape Gueye (twice), and Iliman Ndiaye scored for Senegal.
Senegal became the first African nation to score five goals in a single FIFA World Cup match, while Iraq exited the tournament without earning a point.
