Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi said Tuesday that Iraq will not allow any group to possess weapons outside state authority after the end of September.
During a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, Al-Zaidi stressed that his government remains committed to placing all weapons under official state institutions.
He said Iraq’s decisions are sovereign and that relations with Washington will shift from military cooperation to an economic and strategic partnership. Trump, in turn, said the United States intends to conclude additional agreements with Baghdad.
