Ontario Premier Doug Ford criticized remarks by the U.S. administration concerning Canada’s wildfires, describing them as “unacceptable.”
His comments came in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s accusations that Canada had mismanaged its forests and his threat to impose new tariffs.
Wildfires and heavy smoke have affected air quality, including around the site of the World Cup final in New Jersey, while hundreds of fires continue to burn across Canada.
