The Houthi group announced a ban on Saudi maritime navigation, saying the decision would take effect immediately under what it described as a “blockade for blockade” policy.

The announcement followed renewed clashes between the group and the Yemeni government after reciprocal attacks on Sanaa and Abha airports.

The escalation is considered the most serious between the two sides since the truce that began in 2022.
