France star Kylian Mbappé became the all-time leading scorer in World Cup history after taking his tally to 22 goals during the third-place playoff against England, surpassing every previous scorer in the competition.

The Real Madrid forward also won the Golden Boot for the second time in his career after scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in eight matches at the 2026 World Cup.

Mbappé became the first player to achieve that feat and concluded the tournament with a series of new records despite France’s failure to secure third place.
