Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree denied on Friday that the group had targeted Mecca, describing Saudi accusations as a “grave slander.”

The Saudi-led coalition had announced the interception of two drones and a ballistic missile launched toward the kingdom, including a drone it said was headed for Mecca.

Saree accused Saudi forces of carrying out 93 air and missile strikes across Yemen within 24 hours, including in Sanaa, Taiz, Saada and Marib, claiming that the total had reached 3,689 since the escalation began.
Separately, Agence France-Presse reported that two explosions were heard in Aden on Friday evening, days after a Houthi attack near the city’s airport.
