Thousands of demonstrators marched through the Italian capital, Rome, on Friday during a general strike called by the left-wing USB trade union.
Protesters called for increased investment in education, stronger housing support and improved living conditions.
Farmers and truck drivers also protested rising fuel prices and the growing cost of living, which they said were placing additional pressure on their livelihoods.
Participants opposed increased defense spending, urging authorities to redirect public resources toward social services and essential needs.
