Local authorities in Hormozgan Province reported that loud sounds were heard overnight near Qeshm Island in southern Iran, caused by the activation of air defense systems.

Officials stated that the noises resulted from intercepting small drones and reconnaissance aircraft, confirming that no damage, injuries, or direct clashes were recorded.

Qeshm Island lies near the strategic Strait of Hormuz, making any military activity in the area particularly sensitive.

Earlier, social media accounts had circulated reports of multiple explosions, which were later clarified by authorities as part of defensive operations.
