Algeria kicked off their African Nations Championship journey with a commanding 3-0 victory against host nation Uganda on Monday at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd.

The Algerian goals were scored by Ayoub Ghazala, Abderrahman Meziane, and Sofiane Bayazid, securing a strong start in the group stage.

Algeria is set to face Niger in their next match, with a chance to clinch early qualification to the quarterfinals with another win.
