The move comes as part of an ongoing investigation into Bolsonaro’s alleged involvement in orchestrating an attempted coup following his defeat in the country’s last presidential election.

Bolsonaro, 70, has been under strict judicial restrictions for some time, including wearing an electronic ankle monitor, observing a nighttime and weekend curfew, and facing a complete ban on engaging with social media.
