At least 15 people were killed and 12 others wounded, some critically, when a drone strike hit a crowded market in the city of El-Fasher in North Darfur on Tuesday, a medical source at the city’s hospital told AFP on Wednesday.
In a statement, the El-Fasher Resistance Committees said that “Rapid Support Forces militia carried out a drone attack targeting a local market packed with civilians, leaving more than 27 people dead and injured.”
The city of El-Fasher has seen escalating clashes in recent weeks between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, further deepening the humanitarian crisis in the conflict-torn region.
