Cairo to Host Tripartite Meeting on Libya Crisis with Neighboring States on Saturday

Egypt will host a tripartite meeting on Saturday bringing together the foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria, as part of efforts to revive the long-dormant consultative mechanism among Libya’s neighboring countries.

The gathering aims to reactivate the trilateral framework, which has not convened since 2019, and to coordinate regional efforts toward ending Libya’s prolonged political division and supporting a comprehensive national reconciliation.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for the three countries to exchange views on pathways to a unified approach that respects Libya’s sovereignty, safeguards its territorial integrity, and promotes lasting stability in the region.

This renewed diplomatic initiative comes at a time when Libya continues to grapple with political deadlock and institutional fragmentation, despite ongoing international and regional mediation aimed at securing elections and a peaceful transition.
