The European Parliament on Thursday adopted a resolution urging the European Union to impose sanctions on two far-right Israeli ministers and suspend parts of its partnership agreement with Israel, in protest over the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The non-binding motion, initiated by the Socialists, Greens, and centrists, passed with 305 votes in favor, 151 against, and 122 abstentions.
The resolution specifically targets Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, both known for their hardline positions.
Lawmakers also called for suspending the trade component of the EU-Israel partnership agreement, underscoring growing European criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza.
