The European Union announced a new package of targeted sanctions against Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement.
Brussels stated that the latest legal and financial measures include freezing assets and imposing travel bans, arguing that the move is intended to increase international pressure and limit the groups’ military and financial capabilities in the region.
The sanctions come as part of ongoing diplomatic coordination with international partners, amid warnings that continued escalation could further worsen the humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
