French authorities rescued more than 100 migrants attempting to cross the English Channel to the UK over the weekend, officials said.

According to French coastal authorities, 119 people were saved in multiple rescue operations carried out on Saturday along the northern coast.

One migrant, who was unconscious, was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in Boulogne for treatment.

The rescues come as France and the UK recently signed a three-year agreement aimed at curbing irregular migrant crossings, with increased British funding for French operations.
