French police have arrested two suspects accused of stealing royal jewels from the Louvre Museum in Paris.

According to Le Parisien, one of the suspects was detained at Roissy Airport while attempting to flee the country. The “French Crown Jewels” have since been moved to the Banque de France for safekeeping.

The case has sparked shock across France’s cultural and security circles.
