Hamas has revealed that it has agreed to the ceasefire proposal put forth by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Wittekoff, paving the way for a potential end to the war that has been raging in the Gaza Strip for nearly 20 months.
In an initial unofficial response from the occupation, an Israeli official stated that no government could accept the proposal agreed upon by Hamas.
The plan includes the release of ten Israeli hostages in two batches in exchange for a 70-day ceasefire, a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the release of many Palestinian prisoners.
