Iran’s national football team departed Monday for Antalya, Turkey, to play a final friendly match before traveling to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
The agency said the squad includes 22 players from the domestic league along with the coaching staff.
Head coach Amir Ghalenoei said on Saturday that the team will also complete US visa procedures during its stay in Turkey.
Iran is preparing for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
