Israeli Armored Brigade Commander Injured in Drone Strike in Southern Lebanon

Israeli media, citing military sources, reported that the commander of the 401st Armored Brigade in the Israeli army was injured on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, along with several soldiers, after a loitering drone attack targeted a building where they were positioned in southern Lebanon.

Military sources said the brigade commander’s condition is stable, while the Israeli army is evacuating the wounded from the area by helicopter to nearby hospitals.

A military source estimated that the drone was operated using fiber-optic technology and was launched from a distance of 15 to 20 kilometers.

In a related development, air raid sirens were activated in Malikiya in the Upper Galilee, Kiryat Shmona, and surrounding areas after a drone was detected.
