Libya’s Government of National Unity has reopened the National Museum in Tripoli after a 14-year closure due to security unrest.
Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh said the museum represents a shared national memory, not merely a space for displaying artifacts.
The reopening included an artistic exhibition documenting Libya’s history from prehistoric times to the modern era.
The Department of Antiquities confirmed the recovery of dozens of smuggled artifacts and the modernization of displays in line with international standards.
