Louvre Museum Reopens Fully After Staff End Strike

The Louvre Museum in Paris reopened “normally” on Friday following a decision by staff to end their strike, which began on Monday to demand better working conditions, according to the museum management and the French Democratic Confederation of Labour (CFDT) and the General Confederation of Labour (CGT), as reported by AFP.

The unions said that during a general meeting, employees decided not to continue the strike, while keeping the right to strike on notice if negotiations with management do not achieve “sufficient progress.”

The Louvre had closed its doors to visitors on Monday due to the strike and had only partially reopened in the days that followed, before fully resuming operations on Friday.
