Organizers of the Maghreb “Convoy of Steadfastness” to break the siege on Gaza announced on Tuesday that the land convoy has successfully crossed from Tunisia into Libya via the Ras Ajdir border crossing, without any issues.
Spokesperson Nabil Al-Shennoufi stated: “We are currently crossing into the Libyan side without any problems.” He added that the vehicles had already passed into Libya, while buses were preparing to cross, with administrative procedures underway at Libyan customs.
Regarding their journey from Tunis to the Ras Ajdir crossing, Al-Shennoufi said: “Thousands welcomed us warmly in the cities of Gabès, Medenine, Ben Guerdane, and in Sfax (southeast), where a luncheon was organized in our honor.”
The initiative is part of a global mobilization involving thousands of supporters from 32 countries, aiming to end Israel’s war on Gaza, break the blockade, and deliver humanitarian aid to over two million Palestinians facing starvation, according to convoy organizers.
This overland movement coincides with an incident on Monday morning, when Israeli forces seized the international solidarity ship “Maddalena” in international waters, detaining 12 activists on board and transferring them to Ashdod Port for deportation by Israeli immigration authorities.
