A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck the southern Iranian province of Kerman on Tuesday morning, according to the Seismological Center of the University of Tehran.
The quake was centered near the city of Zahaklout and occurred at a depth of 28 kilometers. It was recorded at 8:36 a.m. local time (05:06 GMT), the center reported.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage. Iran, located along several major fault lines, is frequently affected by seismic activity.
