Security forces in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu, were on high alert Wednesday, imposing a strict curfew after violent protests left 19 dead.
The unrest escalated following a government decision to ban social media platforms, which led to the prime minister’s resignation.
Despite this, demonstrators returned to the streets, prompting authorities to deploy heavy security forces and evacuate ministers by air, while 21 individuals were arrested on charges of theft.
