A new earthquake struck Venezuela’s northern coast on Friday evening, just days after two powerful earthquakes caused widespread destruction and heavy loss of life.
Witnesses in Caracas and Maracay reported feeling the tremor, while the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the earthquake measured 4.9 in magnitude.
The latest quake comes as rescue teams and authorities continue responding to the aftermath of the earlier twin earthquakes that destroyed buildings and claimed a large number of lives.
