Tensions between the United States and Iran escalated further after the U.S. military announced strikes targeting Iranian command centers, air-defense systems, and naval capabilities.

President Donald Trump said the attacks were carried out in response to the killing of U.S. soldiers.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, meanwhile, said it had targeted U.S. sites and bases in Kuwait and Jordan as reciprocal strikes continued following the collapse of the ceasefire between the two sides.
