Pakistani authorities announced on Friday that nine passengers were killed after being abducted by armed men from several buses on Thursday evening in the troubled Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan.

The regional government spokesperson, Shahid Rind, stated that the victims were kidnapped from different buses.

The area has seen recurring tensions, and Baloch separatist groups have previously claimed similar attacks against security forces and civilians.
