Pakistan’s Senate has unanimously passed a resolution expressing support for Iran in the wake of recent Israeli military operations targeting strategic facilities and senior officials in Iranian territory.
According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, the resolution was presented to the Senate with the aim of affirming Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran amid escalating Israeli threats. All senators voted in favor of the measure.
The Senate had previously adopted a similar resolution last Friday, condemning the latest Israeli attacks on Iran. Lawmakers described the strikes as a “clear violation of the United Nations Charter and international law.”
In a related statement, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told the National Assembly that the conflict between Iran and Israel is ongoing. He highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding and cordial relations with its western neighbor, underscoring the historical ties that continue to define bilateral cooperation.
The move by Pakistan’s legislature comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East, as a series of cross-border attacks between Israel and Iran raises international concern over the potential for wider regional instability.
