Indian authorities disclosed preliminary findings on Saturday regarding the crash of an Indian Airlines flight that claimed 260 lives on June 12, shortly after takeoff.

The Indian Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau reported that the fuel supply control switches for both engines were switched from the “on” position to “off” just moments before the crash, causing the engines to shut down and the aircraft to fall.

The report did not assign blame or provide final conclusions but highlighted a cockpit conversation in the final moments, in which one pilot questioned the sudden fuel cutoff and the other responded that he had not taken any action.
