U.S. President Donald Trump said he is willing to send American negotiators to Moscow if it could help achieve a settlement to the war in Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Trump said he would consider dispatching a U.S. delegation to hold talks with Russian officials regarding the conflict, stating: “I would do it if I thought it would help.”
Trump also expressed support for a “major extension” of the current ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, referring to the truce announced for the period from May 9 to May 11.
Meanwhile, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated earlier that Moscow had agreed to Trump’s initiative regarding a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange with Ukraine, potentially paving the way for broader negotiations between the two sides.
