Tunisia’s Trade Deficit Rises by 24% in the First Half of 2025

The National Institute of Statistics in Tunisia announced on Friday that the trade deficit rose by 24% during the first half of this year, reaching $3.4 billion, indicating continued economic pressures on the country.

The institute explained that this worsening is mainly due to an increase in imports, which amounted to $14.36 billion, particularly energy imports, which saw a 13% rise, while exports remained stagnant.
