Turkey and Libya Sign Military Cooperation Deal to Boost Libyan Army Capabilities

Turkey and Libya signed a new military cooperation agreement on Thursday aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Libyan army across key areas, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen their strategic partnership.

The agreement was signed in Ankara by Libya’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Abdel Salam Zoubi, and Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.

The deal includes provisions for advanced military training, exchange of expertise, and logistical and technical support to Libyan forces. It is intended to upgrade the operational efficiency of the Libyan military and ensure its alignment with modern professional standards.

Both parties stressed that the agreement marks a new phase in defense cooperation and contributes to regional stability by empowering Libya’s national security institutions.
