U.S. Agrees to Slash Tariffs on Swiss Goods from 39% to 15%

The Swiss government announced on Friday that the United States will reduce tariffs on Swiss goods from 39% to 15% under a new trade agreement, marking a significant step forward in economic relations between the two countries.
The announcement followed comments by U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer confirming that an agreement had been reached, with full details to be released at a later date.
Last week, Richemont Chairman Johan Rupert met with U.S. President Donald Trump as part of a Swiss delegation to discuss the tariffs, noting that the punitive measures imposed by Washington stemmed from a misunderstanding that will soon be clarified. Rupert described the talks as “highly positive” and indicated that additional details will be revealed shortly.
