Washington and Tehran Discuss Framework to Reopen Strait of Hormuz and Extend Truce

The Washington Post revealed that the United States and Iran are working on a framework agreement that would include reopening the Strait of Hormuz and extending the ceasefire for 60 days, alongside ongoing negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement to end the conflict.

According to a U.S. official and a diplomat familiar with the talks, the proposal remains under negotiation and has not yet been signed by the parties involved.

The draft reportedly includes plans to remove naval mines from the strait and gradually restore international navigation, in addition to halting military operations on multiple fronts, including Lebanon, as part of broader efforts to reduce regional tensions and secure global energy supplies.
