Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed responsibility for a missile attack targeting a security training center in the southern governorate of Shabwah.
According to preliminary figures released by local authorities, the attack killed more than 53 recruits and injured over 200 others.
The attack coincided with renewed fighting on several fronts, including areas surrounding the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and western Taiz.
Yemeni sources reported that clashes erupted between Houthi forces and the Southern Giants Brigades on the Bab al-Mandeb front after the brigades advanced toward Al-Khazzan Hill.
The sources added that mortar shells and drones were used during the confrontations, signaling a further escalation in military activity in the area.
