Armed clashes renewed early Wednesday in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, with violent confrontations erupting between armed groups in the Ain Zara, Ras Hassan, and Bin Ashour areas, according to eyewitnesses.
The escalation of tensions led to the suspension of air traffic at Mitiga International Airport, local media reported.
The Libyan Red Crescent announced it had raised the alert level in Tripoli to its highest in anticipation of potential emergencies.
Tripoli University decided to suspend classes, followed by a similar decision from the Ministry of Education under the Government of National Accord.
These developments come after deadly clashes erupted in the capital on Monday evening, amid reports of the death of Abdul Ghani al-Kikli, head of the Stability Support Apparatus.
