China successfully launched a commercial rocket, the “ZQ-2 Y2,” on Saturday, carrying six satellites into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the country’s northwest.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the rocket lifted off at 12:12 p.m. Beijing time (04:12 GMT) from the Dongfeng Experimental Zone, a hub for commercial space innovation.
The satellites were successfully deployed into their designated orbits and are intended to enhance China’s capabilities in telecommunications and remote sensing.
This launch is part of China’s broader efforts to develop its commercial space sector and expand its satellite network to support advanced technological services, including environmental monitoring, artificial intelligence applications, and precision navigation.
