The UNRWA has stated that the humanitarian situation in Gaza “will spiral out of control soon” unless large amounts of aid are sent.
Tom Fletcher, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, warned of an imminent disaster, noting that around 14,000 infants are at risk of dying within 48 hours if urgent humanitarian assistance does not reach them.
This warning comes as the Israeli occupation resumed the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip after a two-month halt, but the quantities received were described as “insufficient” to meet the growing needs.
